Splendiferous!

So after the wonderful Saturday of 8+ hours of driving and stopping to visit brothers in Farmville and Winchester(and Teri!!!), I come home late saturday night to find an extremely loud raucous party going on upstairs. It's absolutely CRAZY. I turn on the television to check the scores from the Final Four games. Texas is losing to Syracuse by a bit with a few minutes to go, that's a good thing. And oh, what's this? Could it be? Of course!

Okay, now that that's over with, it's been a LONG weekend. Insomnia sucks.

Dr. Liu, however, is an amazing teacher and totally awesome. We talked about China for a bit, and he pointed out something very interesting to me.

There are about 1 Billion people living in China. Of that 1 Billion, there have been 1268 reported cases with 53 deaths. There are about 6 Billion people living in the World. There have been 2600+ cases reported of SARS, with 95 deaths.

Let's do a little math, shall we?

1268 people infected with SARS / 1000000000 people in China

= 0.0001268% of people in China infected with SARS.

2600 people infected with SARS / 6000000000 people in the world

= 0.0000433% of people on Earth infected with SARS.

Wow. So there's a good chance that I would have been infected with it had I gone to China.

I'm so glad they cancelled it!!
